Bee podmor (dead bee bodies) consists of bees that have died naturally in the hive. In beekeeping, these bodies are collected, dried and used in traditional remedies, including tinctures, decoctions, ointments and compresses. They are thought to have strengthening, anti-inflammatory and cleansing effects because they contain chitin, traces of bee venom, wax and other substances.
Despite these possible benefits, we deliberately do not sell podmor and want to explain openly why.
๐งช What does good-quality podmor mean?
Good-quality podmor means:
-
bodies of bees that died naturally of old age, rather than disease;
-
clean, dry, and without any smell of decay, mould or chemicals;
-
dried at a low temperature and stored properly;
-
obtained from bees that were not given synthetic medicines, antibiotics or poisons.
๐ In practice, these conditions are extremely difficult to meet. More importantly, it is almost impossible to prove that they were met.
โ ๏ธ Why most podmor cannot be considered safe
Podmor can be collected throughout the year: after wintering, during the season, from dead drones or even after colonies die naturally. But each option carries serious risks:
-
The bees may have died from disease, viruses or fungal infections, making the collected bodies unsafe.
-
Bees are often treated with chemicals and antibiotics, and residues remain in their bodies.
-
Dead bees may spend a long time lying in damp conditions on the hive floor, decaying and developing mould.
-
Some dishonest beekeepers deliberately kill drones or weak colonies to obtain large quantities of podmor.
โ In effect, the only reliable way to obtain guaranteed fresh, clean and safe podmor is to kill live bees by hand. That is something we will never do.
๐ Why we do not sell podmor
In Islamic tradition, the bee is a noble, hardworking and beneficial creature. An entire chapter of the Qurโan is named after it: An-Nahl (The Bees). Killing a bee without an urgent necessity is considered a sin.
We follow an ethic of respect for life and harmony with nature.
We do not kill bees for profit. We do not use podmor obtained by force. That is why we do not sell it at all.
๐ฌ Why is there a category on the site but no products?
We deliberately kept the Bee podmor section in our website menu to explain our position honestly to everyone who visits. You will not find any products in this category, only this article.
We want our choice to be deliberate, transparent and understandable to everyone who values not only honey, but also the bee itself ๐
